“I absorb and internalize feelings, carefully plan colors and compositions, before using my intuition for directing the brush.”
David B Goldstein, Artist
A resident artist at Palette 22, David’s work is in collections worldwide and he was commissioned to create the “Freedom Kite” symbol for the Pan American Health Organization/WHO for World Health Day. His artwork was exhibited in New York, Virginia, Hong Kong, Rome, Los Angeles, and his “Red Bus” painting was selected for the publication of "Splash" by North Light books showcasing the best of contemporary watercolor.
David shares beauty in our surroundings, locally and from world travel through his paintings. He tries to conjure an objective universal how “it” feels to be standing before a subject. He calls this “Placism,” as the expression of feelings that flow from places or events.
His compositions and colors first aim for aesthetics, however, beyond the surface, connections and aha moments are derived from what he calls reflectionionism, where experiences are simplified and amplified though the filter of time.
